The Brisbane Water Oyster Festival & Blessing of the Waters was established in 2000 by the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to showcase the beautiful waterways of the Peninsula and one the Central Coast’s primary industry, oyster farming.
The Oyster Festival is the only festival that promotes a Central Coast primary industry.
Since its relocation to Ettalong Beach in 2005 the festival has grown significantly and is well supported by local businesses and Gosford City Council. Last year, the Festival attracted over 20,000 visitors throughout the day increasing local retail business well over 50% together with an increase of 61% in overnight accommodation (as reported by the Mantra Resort).
As well as a food and wine stalls, our festival offers:-
The Queen of the Oyster Festival Competition
